A Grounding Meditation Practice

Find a comfortable position wherever you are, don’t try to find another place, or push this to later. This is your space, your calling to give yourself these few minutes. Meditation can really be as short as a couple of seconds. Simply pausing for a moment and being present. It doesn’t always have to be more.

I’m in my body, I feel a cool breeze on my shoulder blades, I see beautiful, blooming lillies, I’m breathing, I am here. And there you are, as simple as that and it’s also meditation. There is no wrong or right way to do this. It’s your practice, for you – always. There are times when a question will pop into your head, and you won’t be able to answer it. It might bug you, and you’ll feel like stopping. But before you do, try to sit with it, breathe deeply, and let it pass. One thing my meditation practice has taught me is that sometimes it’s simply not the right moment and when I’m ready, the question will come back to me, and I’ll be able to understand it better, perhaps even answer it.

So here is my invitation for you, to join me during this beautiful grounding meditation, from wherever you are – all you need is YOU. So when you’re ready, take a deep breath and let yourself flow…

Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, imagine yourself standing barefoot in the middle of a vast, open meadow. The air is cool and gentle against your skin, carrying the scent of earth and distant wildflowers. On your right stands a magnificent, ancient tree, its trunk broad and sturdy, its roots weaving deep into the soil below.

The sky above is painted in shades of gold, orange, and soft purple as the sun dips closer to the horizon. The light wraps around you like a warm embrace, grounding you to this moment.

Now, imagine yourself stepping closer to the tree. Place your hands on its rough, textured bark. Feel its strength, its wisdom accumulated over countless seasons. With every breath, imagine the roots of the tree mirroring your own, stretching down into the earth, connecting you to something vast, steady, and eternal.

As you breathe deeply, the energy of the tree flows through you. Its stillness anchors you; its wildness reminds you of the boundless spirit within. Let the tree’s calm become your calm, its strength your strength, it’s wisdom your wisdom, it’s sense of safety your sense of safety.

You watch the sun sink lower, casting long shadows over the meadow. A soft breeze rustles the leaves, whispering secrets of balance, presence and stories of thousands of years. Allow yourself to feel rooted, just like the tree – deeply connected to the earth, yet open to the infinite sky above.

When you’re ready, take one more deep breath and as you exhale, carry the grounding energy of the tree and the gentle beauty of the sunset with you, back into your day, evening, or soft night.

You are steady. You are free. You are whole.

I am steady. I am free. I am whole.

May this grounding meditation bring you a peace of mind and an endless flow of safety.
