What if I told you, you could make a drink that helps with digestion, aids in swollen face and belly and fights inflammation, using only two ingredients, in less than 10 minutes all at home? This drink has helped me so much with bloating issues that I’ve struggled with for years and felt hopeless at finding successful solutions. Studies show drinking hibiscus not only balances our hormones, but also reduces water retention in the body, and eliminates bloating. One of the hormones responsible for regulating electrolyte levels and water intake is aldosterone. The excess of it causes the body to retain salt and water and causes bloating and hibiscus tea prevents the body from producing high amounts of it, preventing bloating.
Bloating is often caused by inflammation of the stomach lining, also called gastritis, which disrupts the typical gastric motility, resulting in bloating. Studies show drinking hibiscus not only balances hormones, but also reduces water retention in the body, and eliminates bloating. In scientific terms, the high flavonoid content in hibiscus tea helps modulate aldosterone, or the hormone responsible for regulating electrolyte levels and water intake.
